Valmont: Hidden in Plain Sight
Valmont: Hidden in Plain Sight is a museum exhibit exploring the layered, often-overlooked history surrounding Valmont Butte. Hosted at the Museum of Boulder, it reveals how this ancient volcanic landmark has been shaped by community and displacement, industry and leisure, and the sacred alongside contamination. The exhibit connects stories from the distant past to the present, spotlighting “hidden treasures” and asking what can still be saved before pieces of Valmont’s colorful history disappear. It’s presented in partnership with Historic Boulder. Visit Wednesday through Monday between 9am and 5pm (closed Tuesdays). Best for history lovers, locals, and anyone curious about the places they usually drive past. Expect an eye-opening look at how a single landscape can hold conflicting narratives.
