1883 Water Works Open House
The 1883 Water Works Open House is a free, behind-the-scenes chance to explore Fort Collins’ first public water system. It’s the final open house of the season, happening this October at the historic 1883 Water Works site hosted by Poudre Landmarks Foundation, Inc. Visitors can step inside the iconic Gothic Revival pump house and tour beautifully preserved Victorian-era buildings. You can also stroll the peaceful grounds and the historic apple orchard. Friendly volunteer guides share stories about the people and innovations that helped Fort Collins grow. It’s designed to be engaging for families, history lovers, and curious explorers. The “hidden gem” setting and access to normally unseen areas make it especially memorable. Free admission and the last-chance timing before next season make it a can’t-miss visit.
