FREE Sensory-Friendly Trunk-or-Treat Event
Join the Diverse-OT Club through the Department of Occupational Therapy at Colorado State University for our FREE Sensory-Friendly Trunk-or-Treat Event on October 17th from 12–3PM in the Alder Hall Parking Lot at CSU! This inclusive community event is open to everyone and designed to provide a fun, welcoming, and accessible way to celebrate the Halloween season!
Occupational therapy (OT) is a healthcare profession that helps people of all ages participate in the everyday activities, or “occupations," that are meaningful and important to them. For children, these occupations can include playing, learning, making friends, participating in school, and engaging in community activities! Occupational therapists also support individuals with sensory, physical, developmental, emotional, and other needs so they can participate more fully in daily life!
Diverse-OT at CSU is a student-led organization within Colorado State University’s Occupational Therapy program. Our mission is to educate future occupational therapy practitioners while promoting diversity, inclusion, cultural humility, and belonging within the OT profession and the communities we serve!
Our Trunk-or-Treat Event will bring together CSU students, community organizations, and local pediatric OT clinics for an afternoon of decorated trunks, Halloween fun, and community connection! The event will feature CSU's Best Buddies Club, Collar Scholars Club, local pediatric occupational therapy clinics, and more! The event is designed with sensory accessibility in mind so that children and community members with a variety of needs can participate and enjoy the celebration!
Costumes are welcome but not required. This event is completely FREE, and all ages, abilities, identities, and community members are welcome! Come dressed up, bring your family and friends, and celebrate Halloween with us!
