Our Sweeper Operators perform work related to day-to-day operations and functions of the Streets Departments including operating and maintaining street sweepers to clean City streets curb to curb; and performing snow and ice removal duties. This is a full-time, benefited position with an anticipated base salary range of $49,000-$56,000. Note to Applicants: This position requires a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Candidates who advance to interviews must provide proof of licensure during the interview process. Essential Duties And Responsibilities The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive. • Operates and maintains equipment which may include front-end loader, bulldozer, skid steer, dump truck, backhoe, farm tractors, pavement marking & sign equipment, street sweeper, paving equipment, mowing or other vegetation management equipment, and other heavy equipment as needed. • Patch broken or eroded pavement; remove debris from roadway. • May construct and maintain pavement markings / signs, and signals and participate in traffic control activities. • Perform snow removal and operate snow removal equipment. • Input daily work data into a computer. • Perform general building maintenance. • May train and oversee other operators or hourly employees. • Shift work and emergency responses activities may be required. Required Knowledge Skills And Abilities • Ability to work on call, overtime, and after hours as needed. • Ability to read maps and blueprints. • Ability to operate and maintain a variety of heavy equipment and/or vehicles. • Basic computer and data entry skills. • Knowledge of general vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair. • Ability to successfully pass applicable Post Offer Employment Physical Test. • Ability to perform basic math functions. • Ability to adhere to safety requirements and identify safety concerns and improvements • May require basic welding skills. MinimumPreferred Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Experience Requirements • 0-2 years related experience. Minimum age 18.
