You'll observe usage patterns to enhance space utilization, conduct regular inspections to address maintenance needs like sweeping, power washing, and repairs, and coordinate with the Operations team for effective facility management. Your role involves troubleshooting issues, ensuring timely repairs, and fostering clear communication among city officials, maintenance teams, local contractors, and the public. Overall, your efforts contribute to smooth parking operations, supporting efficient traffic flow and positive experiences for residents and visitors. This role works alone most of the time and requires a person who will stay on task without regular supervision. The Worker II, Facilities has a shared on-call requirement to be available for urgent requests 24/7 for two weeks of each year. This position is required to maintain a Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) certification; employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the CJIS Security Awareness training and certifying assessment and initiation of the fingerprinting/ background check within the first thirty (30) days of employment. This position is fully in-person, reports to the Operation Services team, and functions on a Monday - Friday 5:00 AM - 2:00 PM work schedule with opportunities to earn overtime pay during snow removal months. Essential Duties And Responsibilities The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive. • Conducts inventory of materials. • Resolves issues with service delivery, inventory, and billing issues with vendors. • Provides information and materials to internal and external customers and explains services offered. • Performs routine maintenance and repairs of buildings and systems. • Operates equipment to removes snow and clean hard surfaces such as floors, sidewalks, and parking areas. • Oversees contractors who perform specialized trade repair and installation services. • Maintains clean and safe work areas, storage spaces and shop yards. • Performs some custodial duties in public restroom facilities. • Provides graffiti abatement in facilities. • Receives, inspects, sorts, assembles and stocks materials in shop. • May direct and assign daily facility work assignments for hourly employees. • Oversees lost and found and abandoned property procedures. • Operates and maintains equipment for snow removal as well as loading, unloading, and transporting items. Required Knowledge Skills And Abilities • Knowledge of general facility maintenance and repair practices. • Ability to be operate snow removal equipment and City vehicles • Ability to work independently with limited supervision • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of multi-level parking structures • Ability to operate various power and hand tools, skid steers and loaders. • Knowledge of materials handling and storage methods and procedures. • Ability to function as a member of a self-managed work team. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. • Ability to use database, spreadsheet and word processing software. • Knowledge of basic math and accounting. • Ability to perform basic maintenance and repair of equipment. • Knowledge of customer service techniques. • Ability to work a variety of weekday, weekend and holiday hours. MinimumPreferred Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Experience Requirements • One or more years of experience in general maintenance and small equipment operation.
