From the winning artist, Joe Palec: âOriginally from the Brew City in Milwaukee, WI, I have called Denver, CO my home for the past 15 years. I have integrated myself into the Mile High Art Scene with my âextreme doodlesâ and unique storytelling with murals, packaging, and other captivating products. My work can be seen coast to coast in immersive galleries, clothing boutiques, and even homeownersâ personalized bathrooms. Winning the Pint Day Artist of the Year is a dream. It is an excellent opportunity to mix my two loves, Art and Beer. Being one amongst the many talented people that share this same honor will be something I cherish and look back on for years to come. I can not wait to cross that finish line when I am sipping an ice cold beer from a pint glass of my design. Since we are celebrating both the USâs 250th and Coloradoâs 150th birthdays, the theme I felt compelled to do was a birthday party. But not just any birthday partyâŚ. A âprehistoric, campy, hoppy, Colorado birthday partyâ. When asked what Colorado animals I wanted to be featured in this design, the first one that came to mind was âDinosaurs!â. So I heavily featured our Jurassic friends intertwining with other classic Rocky Mountain scenes and animals alike. The whole idea of this piece was to look spectacular on a pint glass but also to entertain. Much like the back of a cereal box, I want patrons to look and discover the many different elements on their glass as they belly up to the bar...."
