About This Event

BioFrontiers Presents is a free public talk series sponsored by the CU Boulder BioFrontiers Institute. Our mission is to engage with our community through public talks for public good. Professor Zoe Donaldson will deliver the September talk: Social bonds live in our biology. To understand the computations that allow our brains to form social bonds, my lab studies monogamous prairie voles. Unlike laboratory mice and rats, these rodents often mate for life, parenting together and defending a shared home. Once these bonds are formed, they lead to an alignment of brainscapes between partners. Ultimately, this work delineates how social relationships change the brain to form a framework that facilitates connectedness and may help pairs effectively navigate the world together. Come learn how your brain may "sync up" with your partner's! Talk + Q&A for the first hour, then a free reception to facilitate informal discussion.
