Boulder Public Library District's New Gunbarrel Library Grand Opening!

Boulder Public Library District is excited to celebrate the grand opening of their new Gunbarrel Library with a free open house event on Saturday, October 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All are welcome to enjoy live music, food trucks, special mascot appearances, activities and more. The new library location at 6500 Lookout Road will feature the district’s first holds locker, immersive art installations, adult and children’s collections, a reading room, an interactive light peg wall, hands-on outdoor instruments and free meeting space. The Grand Opening Celebration will include: Live music by local Gunbarrel bands On the Dot and B-Flatirons Clarinet Quartet Trick-or-treat candy (costumes encouraged) Appearances by beloved children’s book character Pete the Cat and Heatherwood Elementary School’s mascot, Sparky Firefighters and a fire truck A variety of free food trucks (while supplies last) Carnival activities: bouncy house, face painting, caricature portraits Interactive writing, art and craft projects A special storytime Yard games Q&A with local artist Bree Angela , whose work is featured in the library’s children’s area
