Mauri, the second film in the 12-film Wisdom of the Ancestors(opens in a new tab) documentary series, is a cinematic invitation into the healing traditions of the Māori people of Aotearoa. The film immerses viewers in the living world of Māori healing practices in the wake of colonization. Guided by healers, elders, and knowledge keepers who tend to intergenerational wounds through land, language, ceremony, and ancestral remembrance, this powerful documentary offers a profound glimpse into the resilience of cultural memory and connection.
