Essential Job Responsibilities: • Sorting, washing, drying, pressing, and folding clothing and other textile items. • Removing stains from items using the appropriate procedures. • Performing minor sewing duties. • Keeping an updated inventory of laundry detergents and sewing kits. • Monitors feeder information on washers, make sure all drums are full, and report any irregularities to immediate supervisor. • Set proper drying and cooling times for different types of linen. • Clean up machines and surrounding areas • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor • May be required to assist in housekeeping as a Room Attendant, Houseperson or Public space attendant as needed and assigned. • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures, Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, push or pull heavy loads and stand for long periods of time. • Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment. • Requires ability to lift bundles of linen weighing up to 50 lbs. • Ability to push and or pull wheeled cards weighing up to 150lbs. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Available to work morning and evening shifts and on weekends.
